Chanticleer

Declan and PopPop resting

Aunt Susan Holm drove up from Virginia Beach to see Declan and Dana for the weekend. We stayed at Mom Mom and Pop Pop Mannion's Saturday night and on Sunday morning we all went to Chanticleer. It is an old estate that they do beautiful landscaping and is a good mile and a half walk around. There are adirondack chairs scattered throughout the park... all painted different colors and with different designs. Declan prefers the little bridges and the ponds that have turtles, Koi, and catfish.

Dana's Baptism

Dana Leigh was baptised January 25th at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion in Philadelphia, PA. Grammy and Grampy Isakson flew out to meet Dana and play with Declan for a week, and so we also had her baptism at this time. Dana's godparents are Missi Mannion and Tim Murphy, Jr. It was nice to have so many celebrate at the church with us! After the service, we had a party at Aunt Jill and Uncle Greg's house. This is the party house for most Mannion family events. With a few friends and a whole lot of family, MMs tally was 86 people!

Grammy and Grampy's Visit

Grammie and Grampie Isakson flew in for a week! We had such a wonderful time showing them Philadelphia! We walked around the neighborhood, went to the Mint, Dave drove my dad into REALLY BAD areas (of course didn't tell me until they were safe again!), visited with Dave's side of the family, and saw some great Lightsaber(or as Declan would say Sightraider) fights! It was so nice to have my family visit. I am so happy they were here to meet Dana, and celebrate her Baptism with us! We were so sad to see them leave and can't wait for Grammie and Grampie to come back!

Christmas 2008

We had a rushed, but wonderful Christmas holiday. I say rushed, because I was planning on having one more week before Christmas, but with Dana deciding to stay cozy until December 2 I lost that week. So shopping was rushed, and I was there with all the other last minute shoppers.
This was our year on the East Coast for Christmas which worked nicely with Dana less than a month old. Mary Margaret and Marty once again had a full house (up 2 babies from last year) with Aunt Susan, Marty Missi Erin and Baby Marty, Dave myself Declan and Baby Dana, and Kelly! Oh and their rotten cat "Honey" (no one actually calls her that, but it is on her tag). haha I am so not a cat person!
After all was said and done, I was up several pounds and was ready to give up desserts forever... ok not forever...

Home

What a difference it is with our second child. With Declan I think I hesitated leaving the hospital... Took my time packing up, not asking exactly what we needed to do in order to leave. This time I was unable to sleep after the last feeding in the night at five and was waiting until 6:15 to wake Dave. I think I was packed, and ready to leave the hospital by 9:30am.

For the way home, Declan enjoyed pointing out to his sleeping Baby sister Dana the Schulkill River, the zoo balloon, Boathouse Row, Art Museum, William Penn on City Hall, airplanes in the sky, and of course his and Grampy's favorite thing to talk about... the Pirate Ship! (It is actually the Moshulu, a tall ship with a restaurant on it.) We then arrived at our house and Declan then told her all our neighbors names and where their houses were. Finally in the door.
